Platschalm (1,890m) - Karneralm – Ramingstein

Mountain hut experience „A little closer to heaven!“

The Platschalm is an excellent starting point for hikes. In addition to stunning panoramic views, visitors can admire the alpine vegetation and, with a little luck, maybe catch a glimpse of an alpine ibex or some marmots. The Holzknecht Hut is made of bark and gives you a good impression of what accommodation must have looked like years ago. These days it is home to a bath tub and barbeque area.
Platschalm Alpine Pleasure
The kitchen is lovingly supervised by Maria and serves homemade specialities such as meat, sausage meat and bacon as well as traditional “Holzknecht – lumberjack” dishes. This special mountain hut experience is rounded off by the original ambience and warm hospitality of the hut owners. Children can enjoy fun and games at the pond and waterwheel and friendly ponies look forward to being fed. This venue is also particularly suitable for: groups, company outings, birthday parties and seminars.
Opening times: Mid June to the end of September

How to get to the Platschalm
The starting point for the hike can be accessed by car from Ramingstein in the direction of  Karneralm. After ca. 6 km, turn right at the „Birgeckbrücke“, from where the road leads to the Platschalm (1,890 m). Wooden figures point you in the right direction at every turn from there.

The walk to the hut takes ca. 1.0 hour.
