“Buchteln” – warm yeast dumplings

Sweet temptation...


500 g plain flour
125 g melted butter
100 g caster sugar
1 packet of dry yeast (25 g)
¼ luke warm milk
4 egg yolk
1 pinch of salt, a little lemon peel
1 packet of vanilla sugar
“Buchteln” – warm yeast dumplings
Mix all the ingredients together and knead into a smooth dough. Leave to stand in a warm place for ca. 3
hours, until the dough has doubled in size.

Remove from the bowl and form the dough into a roll. Cut into equal pieces and fill with apricot jam (use another type of jam if preferred). Dip each piece into melted butter and place on a baking ray.

Bake the “Buchteln” at ca. 170 C° for ca. 20 minutes, until golden brown.
