Mountain Bike - Aineck Route

Start: St. Michael – length 29.4 km – uphill ascents: 1,640 metres in elevation.
Start in St. Martin/church - via Litzldorf to St. Martin – turn right and ride under the highway – bridge over the River Mur – straight ahead (the downhill section of the Gontal route is ridden in reverse from here) – uphill over hairpin bends to the highest point (1,750
m) – downhill to Katschberg – turn left ca. 1 km before the Katschberg – steep ascent to Aineck (KM 16.4) – take the same route back downhill to the junction 1 km before the Katschberg, left – road barrier in front of the car park - Katschberg, turn right – over a field behind the hotel ca. 100 m downhill to a forest road – straight on the downhill ski slope towards the valley (note: fencing and some deep lateral grooves) – follow the piste to the base station of the Königswiesenbahn lifts – carry on the forest road, passing a junction with the main road - at KM 26.7 next to the main road (the trail is overgrown) directly behind the crash barrier until the lift overpass – turn left there onto the toboggan run which leads steeply downhill to the floor of the valley at the base station of the Petersbründl lifts – turn left, after 400 metres turn right over the Mur – back to St. Michael.
